Exploring the World Through Little Eyes

Through my son’s love of books I have begun to explore how I can develop a series all about his adventures with our next door neighbors cats. In the process I have created some other work as “practice” and I am excited to share this as a work in progress.

  • Every morning, Oliver’s backyard felt a little bit different. Some days smelled like rain. Some days buzzed with bees. But today felt new, the whole backyard was awake and alive. Oliver’s toes tickled the wet grass as he stepped outside. Pearl ran circles around him, barking softly.

  • I’ll remember the day that my mom told me the news, there was no longer just 1, there was going to be two?!?!? Shocked and confused, what did this mean? What does mommy mean? Did she swallow this “bean”?

  • Oliver and his friends sat by the pond, watching tiny ripples move across the water. Coco’s tail flicked. Kitty purred. Pearl sighed and rested her chin on Oliver’s knee. “This is our secret garden,” Oliver whispered. Azul nodded. “Nuestro jardín secreto.”
